When I was a kid, I had a thing about the state of Wisconsin. I wore a shirt that said “Friends don’t let friends go to Wisconsin.” I have a picture of me giving the thumbs down in fron t of Lambeau Field. I even used to plug my nose in protest when my family would cross the border from Minnesota into Wisconsin as we drove through Hudson and other towns on our way to our next destination.
Fast forward many years later, and I’m now a full-fledged Wisconsinite. I attended the University of Wisconsin — either I had no friends, or I ignored the advice of that shirt I mentioned — and a few years after graduation, I settled down in Hudson with my wife. We’ve been here over a decade, and I’ve grown to truly enjoy living here. From the charm of the downtown to the beauty of our state park to the magic of the St. Croix River, there’s plenty to love about Hudson.
I’ve seen the town grow and evolve over the last decade. It’s welcomed new businesses, new residents, and plenty of tourists who are discovering that Hudson is a pretty great day trip getaway for those in the Twin Cities. And while I’ve sung Hudson’s praises for many years to friends and family, I decided it was finally time to talk about Hudson on another platform: a podcast.
